What is the deadline for my Personal Income tax return?
Personal Income Tax returns must be filed before the 1st of May succeeding the calendar tax year. However, you or we can also request an extension of the filing deadline, up to 1 year after the 1st of May.
When do I get my tax refund?
Before you can receive your refund, you have to receive a tax assessment from the Dutch tax office for the tax return that you have submitted. Usually you receive your tax assessment between 8 to 12 weeks after you have filed your Personal Income Tax return. This can however also take much longer, the Dutch tax office have until 3 years after the end of the tax year to issue the assessment, and they sometimes just take a lot of time to do this. If you have received an assessment for an amount refundable, and if the Dutch tax office know what bank account to use, you can expect your refund within 4 weeks.
Am I obliged to file an Income tax return?
-
You received an “invitation” to file a tax return from the Dutch tax office; or

You have to pay more than € 46 of additional personal income tax.
What is the deadline for my Dutch Personal Income Tax return?
Regular Personal Income Tax Returns should be filed before 1 May of the year following the calendar year you want to file for. However, we can normally easily request for an extension of the filing deadline, giving you up to 1 extra year to make the filing. Note that for immigration tax returns the deadline is 1 June which we can also extend.
